All students should be efficient using their devices and productivity apps – including students with visual impairments. In a recent post, we looked at using the iPad with Split View and VoiceOver, where students can view and work with two apps on the screen simultaneously. (See iPad Split View and VoiceOver: Research and Homework Tool post.) Split Screen is a wonderful productivity classroom tool! Is it available on other devices?
Open the desired applications. Click and hold on the green button (located in to the top left corner) which is typically used to make the app full screen. Holding this button will divide the screen into two. Drag the desired app to either the left or right side of the screen. Select the second app and drag it to the other half of the screen.
Press the Windows button + left or right arrow key to move any application to the left or right side of the screen. Or, click on a new tab and drag it to the left side of the screen. Repeat for the right side of the screen. In Windows 10, you can have up to 4 Windows on the screen at a time.
