Yue-Ting Siu, Ph.D.

About

Ting is a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) with 14 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, severe/multiple disabilities, and deafblindness. She was formerly a program aide in the Deafblind Program at the Perkins School for the Blind, followed by a preschool for the deaf. After receiving her master’s degree and credentials in severe/multiple disabilities and visual impairments at the University of Arizona, Ting taught in NYC as an early intervention provider, itinerant TVI, and assistive technology trainer. Currently, she maintains a part-time TVI caseload in Bay area public school districts and lectures in the TVI and O&M programs at San Francisco State University. Ting’s research includes: Assistive technology development and implementation, teacher preparation and professional development, digital inclusion, and multimedia accessibility. She also provides research and consulting support to bridge technology development and teachers’ adoption of tools for the classroom. (www.tplus.education)
