Shirley Maia Rodrigues

Shirley Maia is the Education Coordinator for the southern and southeastern regions for Perkins International Programs in Brazil. She is the Educational Director of the Educational Association for Multiple Disabilities (Ahimsa) and coordinates Grupo Brasil programs supporting individuals with multiple disabilities and deafblindness. Shirley is an expert with decades of experience in the fields of education and inclusion of individuals with deafblindness and multiple sensory visual impairments. She has actively participated in various national committees, including the Education, Assistive Technology, and Accessibility at the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP). Shirley holds a degree in Pedagogy with a Ph.D. in Education in educational psychology, post-doctoral studies in educational psychology, and a master’s degree in education disorders.
