Nathalie de Wit is currently a third year student in Special Education/Vision PhD Program at the University of Pittsburg. Her dissertation will focus on educating students in the sensorimotor phase of development. Nathalie has been the Lead Teacher in the Early Learning Center/Lower School at Perkins School for the Blind for several years before that. She has been an Assistive Technology Specialist and has taught in self-contained pre-school and elementary classrooms with students who are blind and have significant additional disabilities.  Nathalie also taught in a special education middle school classroom at the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind, School for the Blind.

In 2018, Division 3 of AERBVI (Multiple Disabilities and Deafblind) presented Nathalie with the Samuel Gridley Howe Award for Outstanding Practice, for her exemplary service to individuals with visual impairments and multiple disabilities, including deafblindness.
