Mireya Canto Diaz

Mireya Canto Diaz is working for Perkins Community Programs as a dual-certified Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired and a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist. She received her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction of students with visual impairments from Florida State University. With dual certification, Mireya provides consistency for students who need direct and consultation services from a teacher, as well as instruction to become safe and independent travelers for students 3-22. Mireya has worked in the field for almost a decade. She has recently received her CATIS (Certification in Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist), which will allow her to educate her students and support her colleagues that utilize and/or teach any kind of assistive technology.
