About

Marta Elena is a leader in the field of special education and has participated in projects of national impact in Mexico. She was director of CHIPI, a reference center in Mexico for the education of students with multiple disabilities and deafblindness. She is the founder of CALI AC, favoring the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities. She trained as a teacher for people with visual disabilities and obtained a master’s degree in education for students with multiple disabilities and deafblindness (UMCE Chile). She has made different publications, among which the following stand out: Didactic guide for inclusion for students with visual disabilities CONAFE (2010) used in rural communities; collaborated in the special content report “Persons with multiple disabilities” that Mexico sent to the UN in follow-up to the Convention (COAMEX 2019).
