Program Specialist, Perkins Transition Center
Marisol has been a part of the Perkins Transition Center since 2019 and is passionate about helping blind and visually impaired individuals—especially students—build the tools and confidence needed for thriving and pushing the boundaries of possibility. As a blind professional, she brings a unique perspective to her work—combining lived experience, a background in social work, and strengths in creative problem-solving. She approaches coaching with compassion and clarity, especially when guiding parents to reflect, step back, and embrace best practices that empower their students to meet their potential.
Originally from Florida, Marisol’s journey has taken her up and down the East Coast. Now based in Washington, D.C., she is committed to improving outcomes for individuals and families navigating transition. A fluent Spanish speaker of Cuban descent, Marisol also has a deep love of travel and is passionate about making the world a more welcoming place for all who share that spirit of exploration.
