Teacher- Deafblind
Jess Middlebrook is a classroom teacher in the Deafblind School at Perkins School for the Blind. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies from Emmanuel College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Severe Special Education, with plans to complete a PhD.
With seven years of experience as a special education teacher, Jess has worked with students aged 3 to 15 diagnosed with ASD, CHARGE Syndrome, and other complex disabilities. Her professional interests include adapting instruction using multi-sensory strategies, amplifying student voice and meaningful choices in education, and planning instruction that maximizes student independence and self-confidence.
