Tuti Hendrawati

Tuti Hendrawati is an experienced business manager with extensive experience managing human resources in educational, rehabilitation, and community settings. She has been instrumental in the process of transforming Yayasan Sayap Ibu Banten, a residential care center for children with disabilities in Indonesia, from a center that provides care to one that delivers meaningful education programs for children in the center and the surrounding community. This transformation means that assistance for the children has rapidly decreased as they gain learning experience and confidence. Children are independent and have grown to take part in functional and daily activities. Tuti has also authored the motivational book, An Amazing Journey: Dari Menangis Hingga Tertawa, and overseen a university internship program for students to work with the Ministry of Education and Culture. She is a graduate of Perkins’ Educational Leadership Program, class of 2018.

As an Educational Consultant for Perkins’ Asia Pacific programs, Tuti continues to support organizations and schools like Yayasan Sayap Ibu Banten to develop into model programs of care and educational outreach programs for Indonesia. She provides hands-on coaching and mentoring to educators and families.

Tuti believes in the power of community. She aims to inspire community movement, where the services provided to people in need are driven by the community themselves — because she knows that the community is an important part of being involved, caring for, and taking responsibility for the lives of people with disabilities.
