Cynthia Darling

Assistant Director, College Success @ Perkins

About

Cynthia brings more than twenty years of experience as an independent school educator to her role in College Success @ Perkins.

She also works as a college essay writing coach and as an executive function coach for both high school and college students. She guides students to identify their own personal – and sometimes undiscovered – academic strengths so that they begin to take ownership over their goals and to engage in life-long habits of self-advocacy.

Cynthia fosters close partnerships with students’ families, educators, and advisors. Knowing that students’ mastery of academic skills involves so much more than content knowledge, she leads students to see their own innate resilience as a powerful force for grit and self-determination.

Cynthia is a Teacher-Consultant for the National Writing Project and a Fellow for the Academy for Teachers. Cynthia holds an M.A. in English Literature from Boston College and a B.A. in English Literature from Trinity College.
