Assistant Director, New England Consortium on Deafblindness (NEC)
Brenda Allair is the Assistant Director at the New England Consortium on Deafblindness (NEC), where she provides training and support to families and professionals on the unique educational needs of deafblind learners. She earned her Master’s in Special Education as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) from the University of Massachusetts Boston and has received additional training in deafblindness and extensive support needs from the University of South Dakota.
Brenda specializes in early childhood development, family support, and teacher training. She is also an instructor in the University of Massachusetts Boston Certificate of Deafblindness Graduate Certificate program. As the parent of a young adult daughter who is blind with additional disabilities, Brenda has served as a parent advisor on state and national projects, helping families of children with complex healthcare needs and additional disabilities become active participants in the systems that provide services and support for their children.
