About

Ami Tango-Limketkai is a systems thinker who promotes the inclusion and quality of services for all children with disabilities by building the capacity of local organizations to create sustainable programs serving all children. Ami focuses her work in community engagement and creates strategic partnerships to expand services and access for children with disabilities in their communities. She provides leadership to the team to ensure that the program strategies, project implementation and reporting are all in alignment and follows the core values of Perkins that believes that all children can learn, and all children deserve appropriate education. Ami has built her experience as a teacher of students with disabilities since 1999. Her educational background includes an M.Ed. in Special Education Teaching Children with Severe Disabilities from Boston University, USA and a M.Ed. in Teaching Children with Visual Impairment from the University of Massachusetts, USA. She is a national and international technical expert in the education of children and youth with complex disabilities and visual impairment and is a strong advocate for the empowerment of the families of these children.
