100 in yellow numerals with the Lions International logo centered between the zeros

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lions Clubs, the Billerica Lions have installed an accessible storybook-themed braille trail. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions International to become "knights for the blind."

BILLERICA -- "One night they woke up and their Owl Mother was GONE.

" 'Where's Mommy?' asked Sarah.

" 'Oh my goodness!' said Percy.

" 'I want my mommy!' said Bill."

A person who's blind reads the story "Owl Babies" in Braille, eager to make their way to the next page.

The individual clutches the guide rope at the park, shuffling along to the next page post on the 150-foot path.
