Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Regular & Special Education from Wheelock College in 1993. She completed her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in 2012, and holds a Graduate Certificate in early intervention from Gallaudet University. Kristen is a certified Special Educator and Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing, as special education administrator in the State of Maine. She has worked in the field of early intervention and special education for 30 years, and for the Maine Educational Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing since 2006. In addition to deaf and hard of hearing children, she has extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum, deafblind children, those that use augmentative communication, as well as children with multiple disabilities. She is a strong advocate and enjoys working with families across Maine. Kristen has been married to Craig for 22 years and she’s the mother of two children, Jillian (age 21) & Ryan (age 17).
