Ready, Set, Go!

Program

Career Launch@Perkins is here to help you along the path toward a sustainable career, one that will provide the financial independence you need to build the social, family and personal life you want.

On-Campus Training

Over the first eight weeks, you’ll develop new professional, customer-focused and interpersonal competencies, work with the technology and adaptive products you’ll find on the job, and learn to navigate workplace situations that require you to multi-task. And throughout, you’ll hear from guest speakers, visit worksites, and gain an understanding of what employers look for in an employee. You will train on the Perkins School campus, only eight miles from downtown Boston.

Quote from Shaun from Watertown, Mass.

One of the most fascinating things about the curriculum is the variety of subjects that are taught - that helps us understand the many facets of getting a good job and maintaining it.

On-the-job

You’ll also intern for two months at one of Greater Boston’s many dynamic companies, playing a role in their customer engagement efforts. You’ll get yourself to the jobsite, work with your team and supervisor, and gain the type of hands-on experience necessary to stand out from the crowd.

Job Acquisition & Coaching

We’ll follow that up with a full year of job acquisition and coaching support, connecting you with our network of business partners, in the city or town you want to work, while providing support in areas including resume creation, interview techniques and career counseling.
