Perkins Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Perkins School for the Blind.

Perkins is a world-renowned school serving students ages 3-22 who are blind, visually impaired and deafblind. Since our founding in 1829 we have been preparing children and young adults with the education, confidence and skills they need to reach their full potential. Today, Perkins is proud to offer a full continuum of educational services when and where you need us, including day and residential programs at our 38-acre campus in Watertown, just 20 minutes from Boston.

What makes our school program unique?

At Perkins, students receive rigorous academic instruction while also preparing for their future. Our teachers are experts in the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC), a disability-specific curriculum that includes important skills like independent living, assistive technology and vocational training.

Perkins also provides an environment where students with visual impairment can truly blossom. With help from staff, students develop strong social skills and forge meaningful connections with peers. They participate fully in all areas of the community – from sports to student government – and take part in school traditions like the holiday concert and prom.

If you’d like to learn more about Perkins and how we can help your child, please contact our Admissions team. In addition to our on-campus programs, we also provide summer schoolindependent evaluations and public school services, like Short Courses and College Success.

We look forward to seeing you on our campus.

Warm regards,

Amy Ferreira
