By now, TSVIs have heard about Desmos, a popular free web application or mobile application that is fully accessible with a screen reader and braille display. Do you know how to use and better yet, how to teach Desmos to students who are blind or visually impaired?

Desmos is used annually by over 75 million people around the world. Desmos is built into testing platforms including most high-stakes testing providers and assessments including CollegeBoard (SAT), NWEA MAP Growth and Smarter Balanced.

Presenter: Sara Larkin

Sara is the dynamite statewide math consultant for the Iowa Educational Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Since 2007, she supports TSVIs and classroom teachers to ensure students with visual impairments have access to math education. Sara is a national leader in all things related to math for students with visual impairments and is a highly-sought after presenter. Previously, she served 18 years as a high school math and computer programming teacher in the general education classroom.
