Excited about the possibilities of the multiline braille displays and the impact digital images can have on STEM classes? Want to chat with others about this? Check out NFB’s new STEM listserv, Tactile-Talk!
This list is sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind, NFB, and the Science and Engineering Division of the NFB.
The name of this list is Tactile-Talk. It is a place to discuss Graphical Tactile Displays and their use to show pictures and graphical data used in STEM and other disciplines.
Initially the list will primarily discuss the Monarch from the American Printing House of the Blind and the Graphiti from Orbit Research. As they develop, other technologies can and should be included.
The list is for announcements, asking questions, exchanging tips and tricks discussing strengths and weaknesses of given technologies, and anything else that relates to the display of graphics on refreshable devices. We are excited by the emergence of this new area and want to help it grow and prosper!
The easiest way is to send e-mail to: [email protected]; leave everything blank. You will receive an email asking you to reply to the email for confirmation.
Or fill out the Tactile-Talk website form. You have five minutes to complete and return the form, or nothing will happen.
The list is moderated by John Miller, [email protected]
