Explain:

Engineering and Design Process, Museum of Science, Boston, “Engineering is Elementary”

Procedure

  1. Today we will Ask “How can we make a ping pong ball fly in the air without throwing it?”
  2. Show and explain each of the materials: ping pong ball, plastic cup, wooden stick, wooden spool, masking tape
  3. Tell the students they will be able to put these materials together any way they would like in order to make the ping pong ball pop up in the air.
  4. Students collect their materials and carry them to the worktable.
  5. Wear safety goggles. Work together at the table.
