House Bill 26 Online Learning Access

Signed bill for equitable access to digital educational tools for students with disabilities.

Illinois Govenor Pritzker has signed an accessibility law that will impact students with disabilities in Illinios. “House Bill 26 requires that content available on any third-party curriculum service used in all public and private K-12 schools to be Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 complaint and readily accessible to people with disabilities, beginning in August 2022.”

This is a huge step forward for accessibility prompted by the need for online accessibility during the pandemic.
