Dear Mrs. Clause Children’s Writing Contest, 2022

Want to encourage your young story teller? Here is an opportunity for your BLV student to show off his/her writing skills!

Calling all kids ages 12 and under, parents, teachers, and friends and family of kids ages 12 and under.

Mrs. Claus and her Elves are pleased to announce a letter writing contest that is open to blind, vision impaired, and/or deafblind kids from anywhere in the world.

There will be 2 categories for submission: 

The deadline for submission is November 28, 2022. Winners will be announced on December 12, 2022.

Mrs. Claus will ensure that all winners will receive their prizes before December 25, 2022.

How It Works

Submissions will be judged on creativity, humor, and how an applicant plans to do their part to bring peace and harmony to the world in addition to asking Santa to do the same.

Submissions must not exceed 500 words and can be submitted either electronically or in Braille. You can check your character count here.

Electronic submissions can be sent to [email protected] ✉.

If you would like to submit a braille letter, please send an email to the above email address letting us know and we will provide a mailing address.

Opening Day

The contest will open on the day after our Canadian Thanksgiving, which is Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Announcements will be circulated at that time.

Deadline For Submission

The contest will close on Cyber Monday which is November 28, 2022. This is after the US Thanksgiving holiday, which is Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Winners

Winners will be announced on Monday, December 12, 2022 and prizes will be remitted to winners in time for the Big Day on December 25, 2022.

Remember that in order to qualify you must be a child 12 years of age or under who is blind, vision impaired, and/or deafblind.

Questions For The 7 And Under, Age Group

  1. What gift do you want to receive from Santa and why?
  2. What gift do you want to give to Santa and why?
  1. What could Santa do to help bring peace to the world?
  2. Could Santa use Dog Guides to pull his Sleigh, and if so what would you like their names to be?

Questions For The 8 To 12 Age Group

  1. What gift do you want to receive from Santa and why?
  2. What gift do you want to give to Santa and why?
  3. How could Santa modernize his sleigh?
  4. What could Santa do to help bring peace to the world?
  5. Could Santa use Dog Guides to pull his Sleigh, and if so what would you like their names to be?

  1. Your First and Last Name.
  2. Your Age.
  3. Your Letter.
  4. Your Contact Email Address.
  5. Your Contact Phone Number.
  6. Your Country and City.

All submitted personal information will be held in confidence. If you do not wish to be identified as a winner, you may choose to receive your prize anonymously.
