College readiness tip: Technology skills

Kate is the Associate Director of University Disability Resources at Harvard University, where she provides leadership and best practices for accessibility and inclusion. Prior to joining Harvard, Kate worked at Perkins from 2014 through 2021, first as a teacher in the Secondary School, and then as Associate Director of the College Success program. She was also a representative on Perkins’ Expanded Core Curriculum Steering Committee, helping design curricula across content areas. In 2016, Kate was a co-facilitator of Perkins’ Pre-Employment Program, a workshop that equips students with visual impairments with the skills they need to find employment. Before coming to Perkins, Kate taught students with visual impairments and provided professional training to colleagues in public schools in Stamford, Connecticut. She also worked in a psychology research lab at Yale University. She has an Ed.M. in Education with a concentration in blindness and visual impairment from Columbia University’s Teachers College, and a B.A. in Psychology from Wright State University.
