Learn how to create O&M books to help your student with memory issues learn his/her routes!
Book Creator mobility lesson plan for 19-year-old student with working memory challenges and right homonymous hemianopsia.
Objective
Using Book Creator route book on an iPhone, student will travel complete route acknowledging highlighted landmarks, on 4/5 consecutive trials.
Instructor will introduce the Book Creator app and have the student practice opening the app, finding the book, turning pages, having the book read to her and closing the app while seated.
Lesson
- Route and book will be previewed together during route travel.
- Student will lead lesson using book while traveling route.
- Student will use book independently traveling route several times.
- Student will transition to audio only while traveling route.
