Blind Scientist Tools

Find out what tools may be helpful to science students who are blind or visually impaired.

Dr. Mona Samer Minkara is an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at Northeastern University, where she uses computer simulations to obtain a better understanding of the chemical interactions that occur at the air-water interface inside the lungs. She happens to be blind due to macular degeneration and cone-rod dystrophy. On her website she shares a range of resources on teaching science to students with visual impairments, including an accessible STEM Curriculum for the blind.
