The Center for Advanced Technology Training Northwest (CATT-NW) offers a variety of free technology resources designed to help students who are blind or have low vision effectively utilize technology and achieve success. Have you explored these valuable tools yet?
The Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT) program is funded by a federal appropriation and works in partnership with the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) and Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (AIDB).
Their mission is to provide assistive technology and related training to teachers of blind and low vision students, utilizing a “train the trainer” model, while also providing support/training to parents, caregivers and community partners who work with blind or low vision children, including those with additional disabilities.
Assistive technology options are provided through APH, and free training is provided by trainers employed within regional CATT programs.
There are currently 3 CATT programs that cover only half of the U.S.
What if your state is not specifically covered by a CATT program? No problem! CATT-NW offers FREE resources for everyone!
