These idea were shared with me by Clare Scallon, an elementary teacher at TSBVI, and Craig Edgely, a Teaching Assistant at TSBVI.
- Tape the adapted ruler to the table with double sided tape so that as students utilize the ruler it does not move.
- Another idea which is helpful for large print students is to draw a dark line with a black sharpie at the 0 mark of the ruler so that the student can more easily orient the ruler and the object being measured.
- Turn the ruler sideways on the table with the 0 mark at the edge of the table so that student can more easily place the item to be placed in the correct position.
