Accessible Periodic Table: McGraw-Hill

Check out this new accessible Periodic Table available in PDF format.

I am always excited to discover new accessible educational materials – and even more excited when publishers understand the need for and are the ones to create inclusive materials! McGraw-Hill is an American publishing company for educational content, software and services for pre-K through postgraduate education. The accessibility team at McGraw-Hill has recently developed a fully accessible PDF version of the Periodic Table! This Periodic Table is intended to be downloaded and saved on the student’s computer/device for offline use.

Part of the McGraw-Hill School A11y Team and a long-time screen reader user, Jeremy Schmidt shares, “From personal experience I know that finding a properly tagged version of the Periodic Table in a PDF format is quite rare. After working for a school for the blind for nearly 10 years and moving to McGraw-Hill Education, I’ve had the opportunity to work with our design teams and produce an accessible PDF version of the Periodic Table.” Jeremy has created a quick video demonstration for Paths to Technology to show some of the accessibility features of the Periodic Table by McGraw-Hill.
