5 CVI resources to ease the transition back to school

Our back-to-school kit includes intro templates, a slide deck about CVI, and more to help students with CVI transition back to the classroom.

The beginning of the school year is a whirlwind of new opportunities, friendships, and growth — and this may feel both exciting and overwhelming. Often, your child’s new team will consist of teachers and school staff who are eager to get to know them and understand how CVI impacts their learning needs. You may wonder how you’ll have time to adequately prepare your child for the transition and support the school team, particularly if this is their first opportunity to learn about CVI.

We’ve created a set of back-to-school resources to ease that burden. You’ll find:

  1. A sample introduction email to send to the new school team.
  2. A slide deck template to present or share with educators. It is full of CVI fundamentals and flexible slides that you can adjust to represent your child’s unique experience.
  3. An editable student intro template to profile your child. It provides a quick overview of CVI and space to briefly outline important details about your child.
  4. A tip sheet outlining how to produce a short intro video featuring your child.
  5. A question guide and notes template to help you prepare for your first meeting with the team.

Make these resources your own by editing them to showcase your child’s personality, strengths, and needs. Hopefully, your communication will invite collaboration and build trust with your child’s school team.

Wishing you a fun and meaningful school year!
