Playful learning for children with disabilities

The LEGO Foundation virtually hosted their Playful Schools Conference in March 2023. The event was designed for educators with varying levels of knowledge and experience with playful learning, offering insights into science and practice for its participants.

The LEGO Foundation virtually hosted their Playful Schools Conference in March 2023. The event was designed for educators with varying levels of knowledge and experience with playful learning, offering insights into science and practice for its participants. Along with the LEGO Foundation, the conference was organized by the International School of Billund and Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education

Perkins School for the Blind was amongst a group of four panelists who shared examples of playful learning in classrooms from around the world. Perkins School for the Blind created a video, “Playful Professionals Learning: Playful learning for children with disabilities” that was showcased during the conference.

Daniela Gissara, Assistant Director for International Partnerships, highlighted how Perkins’ has provided a key role in successful playful learning in the classroom. In the video she discussed play in schools and how Perkins has implemented useful lessons and ideas to bring play into classrooms around the world.
