Navigating life’s sudden changes

one thing we have control over is our mindset and our view on how we want to take a situation and respond to it.

A hand Holding a Compass

This month I was getting ready for my departure for a Monumental trip that I’ve been looking forward to. However, roadblocks, curves, and alternate roads arose. It can be hard to prepare for sudden changes, but having a good mindset is always an advantage in overcoming challenges.

New changes in my life

For example, I had an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic. I planned for this trip, including attending seminars and building excitement. Despite my planning, life happened! Unfortunately, covid complications took over and my trip had to be postponed. I was deeply disappointed because I was looking forward to this experience and exploration.

Responding to new changes

Even with this great disappointment, I am a little relieved as I will have more self-growth opportunities. With this new change, I can be in a better state of physical stable health prior to my trip next summer. Ultimately, I didn’t really lose on this opportunity, because I actually have a brighter, more exciting trip ahead! Next summer, I get to get first dibs on where I want to go for designation, which in the long run might be more suitable for me.

We can’t always control the outcome of the unexpected but there is one thing we have control over. The one thing we have control over is our mindset and our view on how we want to take a situation and respond to it.
