Perkins International has worked in Latin America and the Caribbean since the early 1990s to support children with visual impairment and multiple disabilities to learn and thrive. Our child-centered focus is to:
- Support Children to Learn and Thrive
- Equip Adults to Teach
- Make Education Accessible
In close collaboration with local partners, we identify children’s learning needs, and intervene to support children with tools and services they need to learn. Because children with disabilities rely on adults with the skills to help them learn, we develop leaders, mentor educators, and unlock the power of families. Finally, we help improve school and program quality standards, and convene and create awareness and leadership to support systemic change. Learn more about our current work in Mexico Project Pixan.
