A Welcome Note

From Dr. Bubikire Stanley, Chair – Local Host Committee

On behalf of the Local Host Committee and our local host organization, the Uganda National Association of the Blind, I take this opportunity to welcome you to Uganda and the 6th Africa Forum. Uganda originally hosted the 2nd Africa Forum in 1999. Sixteen years later, we have the pleasure to host the Forum for a second time.

Uganda is a country in East Africa with a warm equatorial climate. With a population of 35 million, the country is endowed with a rich and diverse culture, landscape, flora and fauna. Visitors to Uganda have the opportunity to visit any of 10 national parks, where they will see the famous endangered mountain gorillas, tree-climbing lions or some of the most rare bird species. A variety of mountain ranges offer memorable opportunities for hiking and mountain climbing. Visitors may also choose to take a boat ride on Lake Victoria to the source of the Nile.

It is therefore with great pleasure and excitement that we look forward to making the 6th Africa Forum the most memorable Forum experience of all time. Our teams are working around the clock to ensure that all logistics are in place as we prepare to receive you. Additionally we are putting together an exciting social program that will give Africa Forum participants the opportunity to experience the culture and hospitality of Uganda.

Once again, welcome to the 6th Africa Forum! Welcome to Uganda!
