Kenneth A. Stuckey (commonly known as Ken) was born February 14, 1938. He began working at Perkins School for the Blind in 1965 as the Assistant Librarian. He became the Research Librarian in 1969 and was credited with “well-planned and interesting museum exhibits” (1977 Annual Report, 14). In addition to working in the Library, he served as Assistant Housemaster for Tompkins Cottage and was also the advisor for the Explorer Post. He led the Boy Scouts at Perkins and “raised the standard of Scouting at Perkins to a new level” (1977 Annual Report, p. 14). In 1982, he earned a Master of Library Science degree. Through his career he has authored a number of publications and articles about Perkins history, alumnae, blindness in culture and the history of blind education. He retired from Perkins in 1998.
