Cancelled due to an abundance of caution around the CoronaVirus.
Please join us on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 12 PM to 2PM for a Parent Workshop presented by Jena Shea.
This workshop will highlight the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Self-Directed Supports model to develop meaningful schedules for adult programming. Self-Direction is a way of providing supports to individuals that promotes personal choice and control. It is based on the idea that individuals and families are in the best position to know about their needs. Individuals and/or families decide who provides those supports and how they are delivered. Jena Shea, parent of former student and entrepreneur, John Shea, will present from the perspective of parent and member of the Council Advisory Board of DDS Plymouth.
This workshop is appropriate for MA families exploring options for day programming after graduation. The content of productive engagement will be helpful for all attendees, though MA state policies will be a focus of discussion. The transition team at Perkins is happy to explore how other states plan for community based, self-directed programs.
Please RSVP for in-person attendance only using the form below or return here to watch us live on March 13th at noon!
