Join us for another Empowerment Series Parent Workshop!

Creating linkages prior to transition age can make an impact on eligible individuals and their families; building community supports through specialized funded services, access to technology, and connection to family supports and resources are just a few of the potential services.

Learning about adult service agencies and providers, eligibility, funding and availability of services at an early age can help students and families be better equipped for transition.

  • Did you know that residential programming and day programming are two separate approval processes?
  • Are you aware that there may be a waiting list for a service?

Eligibility does not equate to services. For some adult service agencies, like DDS, there may be an application process.

An Overview of Adult Services will be presented by a representative from Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). You will learn what is involved in applying for adult services and the available range of options.

Attendees will leave with resources and information about employment, education/training and human service agencies that offer Community Based Day Support (CBDS), Day Habilitation, Self-Directed and Agency of Choice programs.

For those that cannot attend in person but would like to view this workshop, please click the youtube video below to set a reminder to notify you when it goes live! It will begin on October 11, 2019 at 1:00PM EST.

This workshop is appropriate for people from Massachusetts, though all are welcome.
