CVI: What’s the Complexity?
Assessing and managing visual complexity throughout the school day for students with cortical visual impairment (CVI)

DATE: February 29, 2020

INSTRUCTOR: Matt Tietjen, M.Ed., CTVI

Participants will move toward an advanced understanding of visual complexity and learn to use the What's the Complexity framework. The goal is for participants to leave this workshop ready to lead the educational team in designing an appropriate school day for a student with CVI.

There will be a special emphasis on The CVI Range characteristic, "difficulty with complexity of objects," and we will explore a system for assessing the interpretation of images for students with CVI.

Through a video case study of a student with CVI, participants will gain hands on practice using What's the Complexity. As a group we will complete a finished version, which will go directly to the student’s team to provide guidance on school programming.
