Biographical/Historical notes:
The Samuel P. Hayes Research Library was founded in 1880 to support research on blindness and visual impairments. One mission of the library is to maintain a collection on the “current, historical, and non-medical” aspects of visual impairment, including perceptions in popular culture. Each clipping had been cataloged in the Research Library, photocopied, and is available in bound collections as part of the Magazine Files.

This collection is composed of clippings from magazines, newspapers, journals, circulars, and almanacs. The bulk of this material is fiction, with a concentration of nonfiction in the period 1981-1984. Four photographs are also included.
