Abstract:
The Perkins Sesquicentennial Celebration was the 150 year anniversary of Perkins’ incorporation in 1829 and lasted for three years (1979-1982). Ken Stuckey was the Chairman of the Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee and Research Librarian at the time of the celebration. This collection includes Sesquicentennial events, such as the concert Up with People, Ray Charles Concert, and Helen Keller Day; “Visions of the Future” Publication notes, correspondence, and drafts; Ken Stuckey’s Symposium Committee correspondence and meeting notes; and the Perkins Scout Trip to Greece (May 12-21, 1981).

The Perkins Sesquicentennial Celebration was the 150 year anniversary of Perkins’ incorporation in 1829 and lasted for three years (1979-1982). Ken Stuckey, who worked at Perkins School for the Blind for 33 years (1965-1998) was the Chairman of the Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee and Research Librarian at the time of the celebration.

This collection includes notes from Kenneth Stuckey, Research Librarian and Chairman of the Sesquicentennial Committee. Also included are project files, correspondence, clippings, and objects (marketing/gifts) from 3 years of sesquicentennial celebrations at the Perkins School for the Blind.
