Targeting Expanded Core Curriculum skills
The program targets several ECC skills with particular focus on the following:
Delve deeper into making well-rounded and balanced meals for yourself, in the comfort of your own home. The goal of the program will be to fine-tune skills and confidence when preparing simple to more complex meals for yourself. We will discuss adaptive tools and labeling systems.
**Every Monday except December 23rd.**
The art of cooking is increasingly being lost as young people find themselves with less time, and more options to “eat on the go”. However, there are several tricks that blind and visually impaired young adults can use in the kitchen.
“Getting kids involved in the kitchen can help change behaviors early and empower children to develop good life-long eating habits. Kids who learn how to cook tend to eat more nutritious foods and they’re learning a skill that is very important.”
