Our mission

Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the leading cause of blindness and low vision—yet it remains largely undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, and misunderstood. CVI Now and the CVI Center at Perkins is urgently confronting CVI through education, innovation, and collaboration.

We equip the community with resources, tools, and support so that people with CVI are empowered to meaningfully access their world and define their success. Our approach is whole-person-focused and informed by research, data, and the lived experiences of individuals with CVI and their families/caregivers.

  • We value relationship-building and collaboration across stakeholder groups to help grow and advance the CVI field and broaden our community.
  • We are a convener and believe in the power of collaboration, diverse thinking, and connection.
  • Together, we can better confront CVI and improve outcomes for all individuals with CVI.

Our collaborators

Our growing community of collaborators supports our CVI mission in one or more of the following ways: sharing CVI Now resources with their communities, collaborating with us on social media, partnering with us to provide training and education, and/or being thought partners.
