This is a web-based, self-guided professional development activity for TVIs, VRTs, O&Ms, Parents, Teachers of the Deafblind or Severely Impaired, and Rehabilitation Specialists.

Upon completion of this tutorial, participants will be able to:

  • Design strategies to support communication and availability for learning.
  • Discuss the impact of sensory loss and other disabilities on intervention or educational needs.
  • Identify clues to a students’ availability for learning.
  • Measure arousal levels and availability for learning.
