Alternate Routes demonstrates theories and best practices for adapting orientation and mobility techniques for students with additional disabilities that may affect their ability to master traditional techniques.

There are 6 modules included in this training self-paced tutorial, each containing video segments, readings, and assigned activities to enhance and apply your learning. Plan to spend 1 week working through each module, followed by a Final Quiz. While this is a self-paced course, the material will have the most impact if you work steadily through the outline in the order it is presented.

Participants will earn 10 ACVREP credits, 10 CTLE credits, or 10 PDPs by completing the activities and quizzes. All assignments are required in order to receive education credits. You may also choose to register without credits.

This is a web-based, self-guided professional development activity for Orientation & Mobility Instructors, Parents, TVIs. This tutorial covers protective, trailing, and cane techniques for ambulatory travelers. Adapations to canes, and other adapted devices are not addressed.
