Career Launch residential
Our residential track is for the young soon-to-be professional, age 18-29, who’s eager to not only learn and work, but to embark on a unique life experience.
For the first two months of the program, you’ll receive intense, comprehensive career training, through a world-class curriculum for professional skill-building, both on campus and at Boston-area workplaces. When your training is complete, you’ll undertake an internship at one of the Boston area’s leading companies. As it has for past participants, your internship may lead to a permanent job offer. Once the internship period ends, you can count on a full year of job acquisition and coaching support from our Career Services team.

“I like it. I like independence. I love waking up and having just an everyday adventure, enjoying my time with my fellow coworkers here in Perkins. I’m learning a lot and learning how to deal with customers. I’m learning a lot about myself and what I’m comfortable with and what I’m not comfortable with.”
On our 38-acre campus, Bridgman Cottage will serve as home away from home for the first four months of the program. Participants are expected and encouraged to live as independent adults with minimal supervision. There is, however, always staff on duty in the building, 24 hours per day, seven days a week, including during holidays that occur during the program (other than Thanksgiving, when our campus closes).
Build camaraderie, lifelong friendships, and professional relationships at our historical campus in the vibrant Greater Boston area.
In this session, Brian Switzer, author, deafblind athlete and Training & Program Specialist for Career Launch @ Perkins hosted a lively conversation with broadcaster and disability advocate Jonathan Mosen.
