Audio Reviewer
Description: Library aides assist in various library functions, including helping to coordinate Braille and talking book mailings to patrons, entering data, and maintaining cassette tapes. Volunteers may also be asked to answer telephone calls.
Program: Braille & Talking Book Library
Time Commitment: Approximately two hours per week for one year.
More Information: The Braille and Talking Book Library at Perkins School for the Blind provides over 66,000 book titles in Braille and on recorded disks and cassette tapes to patrons throughout the New England area. The Library is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No auditions are required for Audio Reviewer.
The Library staff will provide volunteers with training. Volunteers should have good attention to detail, thoroughness, good vision, hearing, a high degree of self-motivation, good command of American English and a broad literary background.
