IF IT IS REMOTELY POSSIBLE TO LEARN IT, IT CAN PROBABLY BE LEARNED REMOTELY
A few months ago, I decided that I needed to get on Facebook. I really found signing up to be very confusing. I needed to do one of those weird copy things where my speech would not read what I needed to type in. I was about to give up and I remembered that Arthur, one of our trainers, had been talking about using remote access to help his clients troubleshoot their computers. I called and set a time for Arthur to rescue me.
When Arthur called, he tried to get access to my computer over the Internet. Now, I am not a fan of upgrading things so my Internet Explorer version was too old to work with his access program. I remembered I also had my net book handy and I booted it up. In moments Arthur was using my computer right in front of my very ears. At one point I had to enter or I should say Arthur entered my cell phone number and a text was sent to my cell phone.
Now I hate to admit how technology-phobic I can actually sometimes be. When I got the text, it was a string of numbers and letters like bv3cbv and they all sounded alike. I had not yet learned how to move through a text character by character so I could not get the code to type it into Facebook.
Arthur asked me if I had a webcam on my net book. I thought I did but I had no idea how to use it.
Well Arthur, my knight in shining armor, was able to remotely turn on my webcam. He had me hold my phone up to the screen so he could see it and he entered the silly code.
We were set, I was on Facebook. I still need more lessons and I know how to get in touch with a great teacher.
We will be adding a personal touch to our remote training. We want our customers to feel like they have their own personal traner who is always there to help.
