Another Holiday Season?
How does this happen? Where do the months go? It seems like no sooner do I take the tree down than it is time to put it up once again.
I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year, including the turkey. My son has prepared the turkey for the past few years, but I reclaimed the duty this year. I really like cooking this meal. It is pretty mindless and it always tastes so wonderful. I keep trying new food ideas, but everyone always likes what they usually have every year.
This is the time when I use all of my favorite dishes and table linens. It's also the time when I put some of my favorite high- and low-tech devices to work. My old standard brailler is used for creating the grocery list. My Colorino helps me match dishes and napkins and, of course, the table cloth. Now, if it could only help me find them. I usually download some cook books this time of year just to get me in the mood. My braille timer also gets a real workout.
The turkey arrives tomorrow. Let the cooking begin.
