Meet the Team: Jenn Pflug
For years, Jenn dreamed of running the Boston Marathon. "Every Patriots Day I stood on Boylston Street cheering as I watched thousands of runners cross the finish line," she says. This year, her dream comes true. She'll run the marathon wearing Perkins colors because of her co-op experience working in Perkins' Lower School while studying physical therapy at Boston's Northeastern University.
"My time spent at Perkins surpassed all expectations," she says. "As much as I like to think I impacted the students' lives, they have truly inspired me. Day after day, the kids never ceased to put a smile on my face."
This will be Jenn's first marathon, although she's previously run 5k and 10k races, and one half marathon.
Perkins is pleased to be part of the John Hancock Non-Profit Program for the 117th Boston Marathon® on April 15, 2013. Each runner is raising money to support Perkins and its mission to provide education and services that build productive, meaningful lives for children and adults around the world who are blind, deafblind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.
