We want all students at College Success to experience what it’s like to live away from home. At the same time, we recognize the important role family members play in the college process, and invite them to attend family workshop meetings during the fall and spring semesters.
Family workshop weekends are opportunities for families to visit their student and learn more about how to support them academically, emotionally and financially. Some examples of workshop topics include:
- What to expect during the first year of college
- Financial options for students who are blind and visually impaired
- How to stay connected with your student
- Health, wellness and safety
Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to meet with social workers to discuss concerns about their student and to create a plan for providing emotional support during the first year.
During family weekends, your student is your host! We’ll help them plan a fun-filled weekend for their guests by arranging restaurant reservations or securing tickets to a local event.
