National Standards; National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NAPSE)
NAPSE provides broad physical education standards on this site for students and coaches. Specific guidelines are not available electronically, but can be purchased from this site.

What Constitutes a Quality Physical Education Program? National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE)
According to NASPE guidelines, "a high quality physical education program includes the … opportunity to learn, meaningful content and appropriate instruction."  These are general statements; the more detailed report must be purchased from this site.

APENS promotes the standards for adapted physical educators. This site contains information on Adapted Physical Education, including history and related links.

SCAPE offers Adapted Physical Education guidelines, accepted practices, position papers, and fact sheets for teachers, parents, and administrators.
