About Perkins International

Our Partnership with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation

Nearly two decades ago, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Perkins School for the Blind began an ambitious venture—the establishment of Perkins' international programs. Named the Hilton/Perkins Program, this initiative expanded educational programs to children who are deafblind or blind with additional impairments in underserved communities worldwide. Thanks to the generous support and philanthropic leadership of the Hilton Foundation, Perkins' international programs have evolved into innovative partnerships and expanded into new regions that benefit more than 8,000 children each year. Since 1989, the Hilton/Perkins Program has touched the lives of more than 217,000 children, parents, teachers and university students around the globe.

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation is a long-standing supporter of programs that benefit people who are blind. In addition to supporting services for children, the Hilton Foundation supports worldwide blindness prevention campaigns and employment training opportunities in the U.S. for the blind.

The success of Perkins' international efforts and of our local partners is due to the groundwork laid by the Hilton Foundation's remarkable generosity. We look forward to celebrating more success stories with the Hilton Foundation as Perkins' global efforts continue to grow and touch the lives of thousands more children and families each year.
